Englewood High School SmartLab Team Rocks the AT&T Mobile App Hackathon

Congratulations to the Englewood High School SmartLab Hackathon team!  This was Englewood’s first year competing in the AT&T Aspire Mobile App Hackathon.  They came away with 3rd place overall, and 1st place in Sphero app development.  Englewood SmartLab Facilitator Bill Gilmore wrote this about the team’s experience:

“We are all absolutely wiped out after 30 hours of intensive trial-by-fire coding fun, networking and team-building.  We went into this absolutely cold with no real understanding of what to expect, and absolutely intimidated after the first two hours of the event.  After getting over our initial shock and awe, everyone settled in and our students did themselves and the District proud!”

Matthew Dickstein, CEO of Creative Learning Systems, has been a successful entrepreneur in the field of education for over 25 years. Prior to joining CLS in 2004, he played key management roles in building National Technological University, a pioneer in the field of higher education distance learning, and ELS Language Centers, the largest teacher of intensive English language programs in the U.S. Matthew received a B.S. in business from the University of Colorado and holds an M.B.A from Harvard Business School.
