The News from Clovis

We enjoyed reading this recent column in the Clovis News Journal. Like most adults who visit a SmartLab, the writer was dazzled by the energy and initiative shown by students in the SmartLab. It can be even more impressive to find such an advanced learning environment in small communities like Clovis, New Mexico. We appreciate the commitment of Clovis Municipal School District to provide such rich learning experiences for their students and applaud the Clovis News Journal for giving their community this glimpse into the SmartLab experience.

Creativity and Problem-Solving in the Workplace

We know that creativity, adaptability and problem-solving are critical skillsets in today's workplace.  At Lego, it's not just a desired skillset, it's a job description.  How can we prepare learners for a job like "Lego Masterbuilder"?  Perhaps even more critically, do we discourage the development of competencies necessary to succeed in a job like this?  Something to think about as you watch this video.
